University Footy Club Round One Preview

The 2019 Perth Football League (WAAFL) commences on Saturday with a blockbuster double-header down at McGillivray Oval with Uni Footy Club hosting Wanneroo in the A-Grade.

Uni will be looking to bounce back in A-Grade in 2019 after crashing out of flag contention in 2018 in the first round of finals after a one-goal defeat to North Beach.

Uni’s first opponents Wanneroo finished 2018 in eighth spot but won’t be underestimated by coach Andrew Browne’s side.

The A-Stream will all play Wanneroo from 10:40am (A-Colts), 12:35pm (Reserves) and 2:30pm (League) at McG 1.

In the D-Stream, University’s D1 Reserves (12:35pm) and D1 League (2:30pm) will take on Trinity Aquinas at McG 2, while the C-Colts will play CBC at McG 2 (10:40am).

Uni’s women’s teams don’t commence their seasons in the Women’s A-Grade and Women’s B-Grade until Saturday 27 April.

The club will also hold its annual First Round Show on the day and invites all fans and members down to the AJ to enjoy the festivities.
